Our Story

Environmental Action for Resilient and Thriving Habitat (EARTH Somalia) was established in 2015 to address the growing environmental and climate challenges affecting Somalia’s ecosystems and communities. Guided by a vision of sustainability and resilience, EARTH Somalia takes a community-driven approach to restoring degraded ecosystems, conserving vital water resources, and promoting renewable energy solutions. The organization’s mission is rooted in empowering communities to adapt to climate change, enhance livelihoods, and steward their natural resources for future generations. Through partnerships with local communities, government agencies, and international organizations, EARTH Somalia delivers impactful programs that transform lives while protecting the environment.

Over the years, EARTH Somalia has achieved significant milestones, such as planting over 50,000 trees, rehabilitating 150 hectares of degraded land, and implementing 20 solar energy systems in underserved areas. The organization prioritizes holistic, sustainable solutions, ensuring its programs address interconnected challenges like water scarcity, food insecurity, and environmental degradation. With its core values of collaboration, sustainability, and community empowerment, EARTH Somalia is not only restoring ecosystems but also fostering resilience and hope among Somalia’s most vulnerable populations. Each initiative strengthens the foundation for a greener, thriving future.
